Diana MpyisiFounder & CEO
Diana has 20 years’ experience in demanding communication management roles, multiskilling across a wide range of disciplines that range from Project Implementation; Journalism and Communication; Speechwriting; Knowledge Management in the field of Youth Empowerment; Events and Protocol; Facilitation/Moderation of high-profile conferences; Television and Documentary Production.
Her education background includes a BA in Journalism and Politics (Hons.) from the University of Johannesburg in South Africa, and a MA in Creative and Media Enterprises from the University of Warwick in the UK. She is a 2017 Eisenhower Fellow.

Kellen MugabekaziSenior Copywriter
Kellen Mugabekazi is a communication enthusiast who discovered her voice through writing. She has worked on a variety of communication projects and roles, including writing books, blog posts, translations, and copy editing.
This experience has given her a distinct advantage in capturing different narratives on paper and seamlessly telling stories. Kellen is in charge of writing and editing all written content for Blue Oceans Rwanda and our clients, including blog articles, reports, and scripts. She is dynamic and constantly looking to develop her skills and find new, creative ways to convey clients’ stories. Kellen is a graduate of the University of Rwanda with a Degree in Quantity Surveying.

Hussein RurangwaCreative Director
Hussein has six years’ combined experience in IT, as well as Film Production and Editing. This enables him to provide creative solutions to Blue Oceans’ media and communication services, offering clients a well-packaged story to share with specific markets and key stakeholders.
Hussein holds a BA in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Kigali, Rwanda.
His extensive work in the local music industry producing popular songs and music videos means that Hussein’s contribution to Blue Oceans’ content creation for clients is always unique and trend-setting.

Kamikazi MpyisiPhotography & Film Manager
Kamikazi Mpyisi is an award-winning film maker (Rwanda, Germany), with seven years’ experience in film production, editing, and writing.
Her educational background includes a MA in Cultural Management from the Rome Business School in Italy, and a Diploma in Media Design from the Kwetu Film Institute in partnership with the European Film Center Babelsberg, and the Deutsche Welle Film Akademie.
In 2017, Kamikazi was awarded Best Short Film at the Rwanda Film Festival for her film “Breath of Fresh Difference.” The short poetic, abstract film is about travel, similarities and differences between a foreign land and her home (Rwanda). Kamikazi shot it in 2017 while attending a film course at the Filmakademie in Ludwigsburg, Germany. This same film was officially selected to be screened at the inaugural Elba Film Festival in Italy, September 2019.

Arlette UwaseLead Content Creator
Uwase refers to herself as an Afro-feminist community organizer, bookworm, and occasional writer. As the Lead Content Creator, Uwase works with our social media and creative teams to develop original, engaging, high-quality audio-visual content. Uwase also integrates relevant coursework in Communicating for Impact, among her other activities at Blue Oceans. Uwase is interested in, amongst other things, fashion business and culture. She is currently pursuing a BA in Global Challenges from the African Leadership University.

Sam RutabingwaFinance & Accounting Manager
Sam has seven years’ experience in financial reporting and accounting duties, book-keeping, tax declarations and budgeting. He holds a BA in Finance from the Kigali Independent University and is currently pursuing a Chartered Public Accountant Degree from the Kenyan Accountant and Secretaries Examination Board (KASNEB).

Fiona Teta RutayisireOffice & Client Relations Manager
Fiona is a versatile individual who holds a Degree in International Business and Trade from The African Leadership University. With a background in Office Administration & Communication Management, her experiences have fostered a deep passion for communication for impact, driving her ambition to pursue a long-term career in the field.
As our Office Manager & Client Relations Manager, Fiona brings her diverse skill set & dedication to creating efficient office operations and nurturing strong client relationships. With her strategic approach and commitment to making a positive difference, Fiona is poised to make a lasting impact in the communication field and contribute to the success of Blue Oceans Rwanda.

Jean Jacques KoffiMarketing & Social Media Director
Jean Jacques has over four years’ experience in marketing and social media content creation and management. He showcased his skills by marketing Blue Oceans services and widening the company’s client base, while still pursuing his undergraduate at the African Leadership University, where he graduated with a BA in Entrepreneurship. Jean Jacques oversees the development of all of branding and corporate identity activities at Blue Oceans.

Ange Gaju KagubareCommunications & Marketing Intern
Ange is an enthusiastic student currently attending Eastern Washington University, pursuing a Degree in Communications. Ange has begun an interesting summer internship at Blue Oceans Rwanda where she works closely with our Lead Content Creator.
She has a passion for the industry and hopes to advance her knowledge and abilities in social media and marketing while gaining priceless real-world experience in the communication field through her internship. With an eye on the future, Ange hopes to carve out a career path within the social media and marketing industry, employing her knowledge and creativity to significantly make an impact in this field.

Rodrigue MuregoStudio Manager & Fixer
Rodrigue is responsible for studio management regarding content that Blue Oceans creates for television networks. One example of this is the weekly currently affairs show known as The Square, which has been running on Rwanda Television since March, 2018 to date. Rodrigue also provides all logistical support to audio-visual content (filmed commercials, tv shows, documentaries) developed for clients. Rodrigue holds a BA in Information Technology from the University of Kigali.

Denis Rukundo KwizeraPhotography and Film Editor
Denis is passionate about photography, with five years of experience in this field. Before joining Blue Oceans, Dennis worked with major local and multinational brands providing photography, documentary production, and commercial advertising services.
Denis holds various certificates in Advanced Photography from Alison Courses.

Triphine TumuramyeMake-up and Costume
Triphine serves as a make-up artist consultant for Blue Oceans’ work in audiovisual services for clients, in areas such as television commercials, photoshoots, documentaries, and promotional videos. Specifically, she has served as a professional make-up artist for The Square – a weekly television show produced by Blue Oceans that is aired on Rwanda Television. She has served in this capacity from August 2018 to date. Triphine graduated from the University of Tourism and Business Studies, with a Degree in Tourism Management.
